Leukemia

Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, where blood cells are produced. It typically involves the abnormal production of white blood cells, which can interfere with the body's ability to fight infections. Leukemia can develop rapidly (acute) or slowly (chronic), and the symptoms may include fatigue, frequent infections, unexplained bruising or bleeding, and bone pain. Treatment options depend on the type and stage of leukemia and may involve chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and sometimes bone marrow transplantation. Advances in research continue to improve outcomes for those affected by the disease.
